Course Overview

What is Social Entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurs combine business with purpose. Their mission? To address pressing issues like poverty, education gaps, health care disparities, and environmental challenges while creating businesses that make a difference.

The 3 pillars of social entrepreneurship:

Social Entrepreneurship is a unique approach to creating sustainable social and environmental impact through the use of business principles and entrepreneurial approaches. One of the core principles of social entrepreneurship is the “3 Ps”:

  • People: The social impact of a business, and its ability to create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities.
  • Planet: The environmental impact of a business of course, and its ability to promote sustainability and reduce its negative impact on the planet.
  • Profit: The financial sustainability of a business, and its ability to generate revenue that can be reinvested back into its own social and environmental purpose.
