1. Job Summary:
The Global Citizen Education Group is seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy educator to run interactive summer camps for younger students, as well as specialized programs for international high school students. Because many of our international students face language barriers and are still developing foundational critical thinking skills, our trainers must approach all cohorts—regardless of age or nationality—with highly interactive, play-based, and encouraging teaching methods.
Trainers will act as inspiring "Role-Models" who lead with passion. You will guide students through global topics like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by breaking down complex concepts into concrete ideas and practical cases. The terms of engagement and remuneration will be on a per-programme basis as a freelancer, and candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree from a recognised school from the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
2. Responsibilities:
- Conduct highly engaging, interactive training sessions and summer camps tailored to the energy levels and needs of younger learners and ESL high school students.
- Simplify complex global issues (such as the SDGs) into relatable, concrete ideas and practical cases so students can come up with their own solutions.
- Serve as a positive, patient role model, ensuring students do not feel discouraged by language barriers or critical thinking challenges.
- Provide encouraging feedback on students’ performance to build their confidence in problem-solving and collaboration.
- Execute effective classroom management to maintain a fun, inclusive, and highly supportive environment.
3. Qualifications:
- At least an undergraduate degree from an accredited school in the IAU WHED.
- Good command of the English language.
- Language Asset: While English is the primary language of instruction, proficiency in an additional language (i.e., Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Bahasa Indonesia/Malay, Tagalog, or Thai) is considered a strong asset for communicating with our diverse student cohorts.
- Preferred 1-2 years of relevant teaching experience, specifically working with young children or facilitating youth programs.
- High energy, strong communication skills, and the patience required to manage and inspire younger students (and older students who require foundational guidance).
- Professional and able to work independently.
- Passionate about teaching and using education as a platform for impact
4. Experience:
- Experience in debate coaching, youth leadership programs, or interactive classroom teaching is highly valued.
- Experience in ESL (English as a Second Language) environments or facilitating cross-cultural youth camps is strongly preferred.
5. Recognised English Certifications:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic (7.5/9.0)
